| The
New York State Rifle & Pistol Association (NYSRPA) and Assembly
Minority Leader Brian Kolb have set a date of Tuesday, March
20, 2012 for the 3rd Annual Sportsmen & Outdoor Recreation
Legislative Awareness Day. It will take place from 9:00 AM
to 1:00 PM in the "Well" of the New York State Legislative
Office Building in Albany. Sponsored by NYSRPA and Assembly
Minority Leader Brian Kolb the event brings together thousands
of gun owners and concerned citizens from around the state to meet
with their representatives and features exhibits and presentations
by advocates and experts. The highlight of the event will be a keynote
address by Wayne LaPierre, Executive Vice President and CEO of the
National Rifle Association. The event is open to the public and
all are welcome to attend and celebrate our 2nd Amendment freedoms. SAFE would like to fill a bus this year to go to this event. SAFE has been to the first two years events and I believe they are an effective way to get our message across to our elected officials. Who wants to join me? The cost will be $40.00 per person and will include refreshments supplied by SAFE. We need a minimum of 40 people in order to pay for the bus which includes any taxes or gratuities. I can guarantee you will have a good time and you will be helping to protect our rights in the process. As a matter of fact I would suggest you make an appointment with your State Senator and your State Assembly member now to see them right after the rally. We will have a list of bills that we will ask all who attend to speak on with their legislative representative. You can either send the money to the SAFE mailbox or turn it in at the March meeting to insure you have a seat. We are limited to 52 seats. There is a cutoff date of March 12th, 2012. We need to know by then so all arrangements can be finalized. We will be leaving from the Park & Ride area at exit 49 North Service Road and Wellwood Ave, just East of Route 110 Melville at 5:00 AM. We will be leaving Albany by 3:00 PM should return by 7:30 PM to the Park & Ride with a stop for dinner. This is an opportunity for us to meet and greet our elected officials and impress upon them the importance of our Constitutional Right to own and use firearms for all legal purposes including self defense and defense of family and property. |
