SAFE Needs Your Help to Overturn Nassau Handgun Ban and Derail Suffolk Ban

SAFE has already donated $1000.00 to Mr. Alan Chwick and SAFE is continuing to collect donations to fund the continuation of a lawsuit to overturn Nassau County's ban on handguns that are colored in a way that Nassau calls "deceptive." You can read more about the suit here: PT1 PT2 PT3 PT4 (courtesy of SCOPE Inc).

The first level of the Court has ruled and if this Court Decision is allowed to stand, many Nassau gun owners will forfeit their handguns for destruction. Those that don't know about the law or travel to Nassau from outside the county could go to jail for a year and be fined $1,000 for having a handgun in a color that Nassau doesn't like. And if this law is not overturned, Suffolk will get the green light to pass the same law, and the floodgates will be open in Nassau, Suffolk, and every other New York county to pass their own handgun laws that are more strict than state law, to the point of banning handguns altogether.

Your support for this critical lawsuit is desperately needed. Please contribute whatever you can right away and make check payable to SAFE. In the memo portion of the check write Chwick-v-Mulvey and we will know who it is you want to support. You may also donate any amount you want to SAFE at any time to go into the "SAFE Legal Defense Fund" for any legal issue we may have to face in the future. Our ability to go to court and fight for our rights is very much dependent on how money we raise in the Legal Defense Fund.
